Information and knowledge are the main sources of competitiveness in every industry. The increasing role of ITadoption in order to manage them is somehow supporting a better management of both these sources. In fact, IT allows the creation of networks and flows between different organizational levels and supports learning practices as well. The evidence from the banking industry shows though that the use of IT is not always enough in order to be competitive, The need for better organizational and managerial practices is demonstrated in order to make knowledge networks more effective.
